Springers are HD discoed
« on: April 23, 2012, 05:09:46 PM »

Hi guys,

I was up in Daytona this past weekend. Memories from a few weeks back! Dropped in to Destination Harley on the I-95 and the US 1. I was speaking  to the sales manager and he told me with 'definitiveness' that HD would not make any new Springers in the future. I checked and there are no 2012 springers.

So, looks like us Springer owners have one more reason to be proud of our rides!

Carl,
They told us that in 2008 and then came out with the Crossbones!
Talked to Factory reps at H.O.G. Training that year in Birmingham and they said "Never say Never when it comes to H-D!!"
Actually I wish they would bring back the Heritage Springer. That bike to me is the epitome of H-D styling!
Of course I would still have to think long and hard about letting go of my FXSTSSE2!

I can see the Heritage Springer coming back; that bike was the best looking one in the fleet!

I can understand why they would do this, the springer front end is old technology, but it sure is good looking. Would hate to see it go.

Ever notice how many custom bikes with springer front ends there are out there. There is a demand and H-D knows it. We'll see another one in the next 5 years, I bet. What kind? Who knows :nixweiss:

Couple of years ago the Road Glide was discontinued too.  Except of course for the next year's Road Glide with a new word added to the name.  This kind of thing is always best taken as a wait and see.
