I asked about the sound in another thread. I was told by some dealers that the sound of these bikes would surprise you. They mentioned that they sounded like the SE Mufflers and had a nice sound from the factory. From what you are saying I guess not.

d00d, I had a buddy tell me he was at the HD shop yesterday and liked the new bikes sound better than the 06 bikes (non SE) but still soesn't mean it would be a keeper, just better than before.

With the new reg's we aren't going to see or hear anything the way we'd like it off the showroom.

Absolutely, Positively, without a doubt, NO !!!! When you crack this thing open you hear the intake more than the exhaust. However, the 4" exhaust looks nice on this baby. Also, I am coming off a bike with full Rinhart system that I loved. I don't know how long I can wait until this exhaust and intake can be opened up. The bike is very "Peppy" but not a neck jerker like I was expecting. I know that with a few minor mod's this bike will scream but I cannot seem to find anyone who has done anything other than slip on's on an 07. If that is all I can do I will get these mufflers modified to the smooth bore for some cheap easy sound.

Hi all,

Poor Frenchy, having ordered this machine, but no Photo about it.
Just some details on HD US site, but nobody can tell me the difference with my 2006 Electra Ultra ( Black).
Is the tour pack as big as the normal an Electra Ultra ?
Is there any feature that are not compatible to drive with this machine every day ( 16000km on 6 month) even when it's raining.
So, if can bring pack some picture I will be very happy.

Kind Regards,

Tour Pak is smaller than Standard Ultra tour pak, ride it everyday no worries.

Hi,
Thanks for your response.
What do you mean by "challenge" with the Tour Pack ? [smiley=nervous.gif]

Finally saw a B/O in person today.  The paint is really sparkling in the sun.  I was a little disappointed to see the primer inside the fender on the bottom end though.

I also noticed the piping or weaved braid around the edge of the seat..  Wouldn't that have the tendency to bug your butt after a couple a hundred miles?

One more thing, is the rider backrest adjustable?  I didn't see the pull lever like I had on my Ultra.

She was pretty though.  The owner was impressed with the power, but disappointed with the sound.

1. I never noticed the primer. Probabley because it maks no difference since that area is abused by road debris

2. Piping on seat has yet to bother me. Again, I did not even notice it until now.

3. Riders backrest is adjustable via a small allen bolt behind it. It was designed for easy hassle free removal.

4. I agree, sound sucks but the bike pulls like a horse to redline in every gear. I will most likely be adding a full Rinehart system with Ness big sucker, 2006 dyna model powercommader (dynajet recommended this) to bypass the O2 sensors and richen the fuel, and a full dyno since there will be no canned map for the 110" motor anytime soon. After that the bike should run and sound like a real Harley

I agree about the mod's. The new powercommander module for 07 is going to eliminate the O2 sensors because Dynojet is advising that the bike will run better without them. The sensors on the 07's are NOT a wide band type. They are closed loop which is basically only good for smog and pollution control. According to Dynojet it is too costly to convert their modules to a wide band style O2 sensor system which would allow the sensors to modify the fuel injection accordingly for whatever conditions are present (too lean, too rich, etc). They believe removing them (like the dyna versions) is more economical and allows more tweaking to the system via maps. I know zippers has a unit designed that works with their current thundermax modules that add's two new O2 sensors to the bike that are true wide band HOWEVER the new module is over $400.00 and that is in additon to the $450.00 that you already paid for the Thundermax ecm controller in the first place. I will just use that $400.00 towards a custom Dynotune and map.

Get 3 of us in a room and we will completelt re-design the bike however there is something to the thought of it was designed for a purpose why not keep it that way? Pipe for sound is about all I want

That is going to be a hard bike to get. Very Very popular already. I'm glad I already have one  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]. I just need to get more miles on it... It just turned 200 miles and I have a long way to go.

Kazumdgc, did you notice the exhaust get any louder during break in ? Just curious
