just bought the 2012 CVO road glide and asked the dealer to install the boom audio passenger to rider communication system.  Comes with fairing speaker switch, handlebar push to talk switch and requires flash of the audio system.  Ordered the part, dropped the bike off at dealership and they called 2 hours later only to tell me they could not install on the CVO due to the wiring harness?  I want to connect to the factory system to utilize the ipod interface through the helmet system.  Does anyone know a way around this problem?  i can't believe HD can't offer what seems to be a simple add on on the $32,000 CVO.  They suggested i go with a bluetooth or handle bar system which defeats the purpose of having the upgraded ipod interface system that i paid for.  Can anyone help?

You're experiencing the same problems owners of SESG2/3's have when trying to add an audio accessory, and which can be overcome with a little simple adjustments to the OEM wiring on your bike.  Unfortunately, most dealers seem unwilling to take the time to figure out what's necessary.

I suggest you contact TIF2 (Rich) via PM and include your phone number.  I'm confident he can tell you what's needed.

I assumed it was something that could be resolved.  It's just wiring but you are correct, the dealer just sent me out the door.  thanks for the advice.

On the SESG2/3 - there is nothing about getting rider-to-rider comm functionality that can be solved with simple little adjustments to OEM wiring. It's a very involved effort (it was for me anyway ). If the CVO Road Glide is wired like the SESG2 and SESG3 (I've not studied it) then you will need to add a properly pinned "Audio Interconnect" (known as 6B) and you will need to add 3 additional wires to the 105B connector under the fairing cap.

If you can send me the wiring diagrams for the CVO Road Glide that you're working on I'll be able to tell if these wires are missing or not.

If it follows the issues with the SESG2 and SESG3, then here then this may help.

Adding a fully functioning speaker switch to the fairing cap:

Adding a properly pinned 6B "audio interconnect" connector - see replies #38 and #39 here:

Again, I'm not very familiar with the CVO RG, but if it follws the messed up wiring of the SESG2 and SESG3 then the above should be helpful.
