This is probably why the woman in the other thread ran the red light and hit the biker!

All drivers should be required to try this on a closed course. It would convince them of the dangers and in the end SAVE LIVES. :soapbox:

Are you kidding. If I were a Highway Patrol this state would not have a defficiate... I see 4-7 cell users either texting or cell talking for every mile of freeway I drive here in Sacramento. Just last week I got stuck behind a car at an intersection with a blasting stereo boom box.  Light turns green the car in front of me not moving, I can see the idiot busy on his cell phone, I'm honking but he can't here me because of his loud music then the light turns red. We didn't move an inch. I get out of my car walk up to his window banging on it, he jumps out of his trance and I tell him to put cell phone up and pay attention to the traffic signals. He blows the red light and off he goes...  Man,, I'm still burning over that episode. Thank god for blood pressure pills.... Id be dead..  :'(

When dealing with impaired drivers on a regular basis, often you can tell how high their blood alcohol content will be based on how they are driving... usually within a few points.

I cannot tell the difference between the indicia of an impaired driver and one who is texting while driving, most times I pull them over thinking they are drunk.

I believe that... Just yesterday heard on the  news  radio that a car side swiped two cars and rear ended another on J Street Sacramento.    Aparanetly driver was using cell phone when accident happen.. No one hurt thank god... So driver probably gets a ticket and slap on the hand . >:(
