then close it - it has velcro and two pull pins and two straps that hold it down

all done - it also has a notch in the floor for a bat. tender. During the winter i move the shell close to my apt. door and run a bat. tender to it for the winter. Works perfect.

I am thinking about getting another one for my softail deluxe in the pic. Two Cycleshells will fit in one parking spot. Right now I just have a soft cover for the softail.

You didn't have a problem with condensation during the Ohio winters?  I left one of my bikes in my (non-insulated) enclosed trailer for about 4 or 5 weeks in the fall a few years back and that was all it took to get some spots showing up on the chrome.  Nothing that wouldn't come off, but still a PITA.  If you can go 4 or 5 monhts with that and not have problems, that's pretty amazing.

No problem at all. It has a vent in the front and rear. So no condensation.

Here is the link.

http://www.cycleshell.com/

I got the tourer model (the largest) because of my tour pack. Well worth the money. Can't say enough about the service they provided, ordering and product. I called them direct and placed the order. It took about a week I think to get it.

It looks great for keeping the bike protected. My only concern would be the moisture factor that others have mentioned as well. You say it's vented fore and aft and that you haven't had a problem with the moisture building up? Perhaps they factored that into the design. I know there is a product for RVs that people use to keep moisture out of when they store them for long periods of time. It's essentially a dessicate that absorbs moisture. It comes in a huge can and is crystalline in nature (if I remember correctly). You just pop the top off the can and let the can sit inside the RV. You must replace it every year but it works well. If I used a bike protector like this I might want to use that product too as a cheap form of insurance against moisture getting at my chrome.

Hadye, that should work pretty well I'm thinking. The dust gets into everything over here. Wish we had time to visit but vacation time will hit fast and furious when it come around. Take care!

I'm in an apartment with my '09 SERG and I just use a H-D cover while in the lot.  It's stored at a friend's garage during the winter.  Got a question for CUL8R: What do you do with your bike when storms (hail, etc.) come through?  Fortunately there's some space under a stairwell in my building when the nasty's come through.

think my preference would be renting a 10x10 covered storage locker

I tried the renting option first before the Cycleshell and the bike would not trigger the gate to open. Plus its nice having the bike at home where I can jump on it anytime and not have to drive to the storage rental place. And it is saving me 60.00 bucks a month by not renting and during the winter I can have a battery tender attached to it.
