Cool story! Thanks for sharing. That Chip is a helluva guy!

He has his moments, doesn't he!   :2vrolijk_21:

He got a bike purchase completed for me - and shipped over 900 miles safe and sound a couple years ago!  Couldn't have asked for better care - plus a fantastic Glare treatment!

Rob, great story.  Have been wanting a Bushtec for a long time and I think you have pushed me over the edge.  Where did you get your hitch and was it installed locally?

Rick

The Bushtec is the way to go.
There is a China company cloning the Bushtec, the American Legend and the N-line but the products are crap.
A guy here in Monroe bought one of the American Legend look a likes. The wiring was inferior, the chrome was peeling after he got it home and the body was as wavy as the Ocean.
Buy a used Bushtec or American Legend but be careful about the China trailers.

Yes Rick. The shop that does all of my fleet also works on bikes. Advantage Automotive 352-369-5705. Ask for Kevin or Jason. Very good people. Some of the guys at the local HD place use them for the auto work.

Thank you Chip and Rob.  Will only go American and will contact Advantage Automotive to do the hitch work.  Leaving for Alaska next week without a Bushtec, but not the next long trip.  Have a great summer.

Great story, great find and great ending. :2vrolijk_21: Congradulations Rob. For all the crap throwed at Chip he sure seems to be the kind of guy anybody would be proud to call brother. So I figure the flying crap must be thrown with fun and admiration.  :apple: I hear RED TRAILERS ARE THE FASTEST  :pepper: :pepper: :pepper:

Rick

When it's time to locate your trailer keep in mind if it's close to me I'll take a look.
An adventure is an adventure, helping someone in the process is just an added bonus.
Let me know and ride safe to Alaska.

:bananarock:
We made that round trip from south dakota last year this time. Beware the Alaska highway if you have never been on it. This time of year the road snakes are not filled yet and can be 18 inches wide and 18 inches deep across the whole road. Gas is few and far between in Canada and especially the yukon and often the only option is crapola gas. The state brid is the "skeeter" and it is always good to carry a big can of bear spray; which I thought I was gonna be forced to use more than a few times with critters. Bug repellent.... Pictures, pictures, pictures...

I think I heard from TWOLANE. But having three fast red bikes I figured the trailers were quick too.  :apple: :pepper: :apple: :pepper: :apple:

That is true, I was able to take the wife on a month long adventure with a bushtec. And it is true that you forget it is back there... The best thing I packed for the adventure was a shoe and glove dryer which I used many times on my heated gloves after day long rains and even though my HD waterproof boots didn't leak, it sure freshened them up and made them toasty warm to put on in the morings... Awww, the small luxuries in life, LOl...
