We really need to bring back public hangings so some of this stupid bullchit will cease

Was on the airplane the other day and the stewardess saw one of my ID's and thought I was the Air Marshall :huepfenlol2: Well this 17 year old girl would not power off her cell phone and continued to text well after she was told to power it off. The teen began to bitch at the stewardess that she did not need to power down. I was asked politely if I would step in. I informed the stewardess to just go and get the law from the airport. Finally her mother, who was sitting next to her, told her to put the phone up.
That girl will be one who will kill someone on the road.

Sounds like that mother needs a lesson in parenting too. Why did she let it go on so long?
I think parents feel so guilty about being a single parent or are busy working so they buy their kids off with the latest gadgets. They give in to the "Mom (or dad) all the cool kids have one!"  What happened to "If all of them were jumping off a bridge would you do it too?"  :huepfenlol2:
I think kids should just have simple in case of emergency phones just voice, no texting or Internet.

It's not just kids...I was watching an episode (surfing TV) of whatever name that show is about Southwestern Airline "stuff that happens" the other night.  Some guy, in his late 40's/early 50's refused to turn his cell phone off when asked by the flight attendant.  He was removed from the plane and had to catch a later flight after a "discussion" with authorities.  Some people think they are too important to not have constant contact with whomever, whenever.

My kid, if asked to turn off their cell phone and I was sitting next to them, would only be asked to do so once.  The next time, the phone would be in my possession until some later point, after we "talked".

The father was sitting in First Class. The mother did not want to listen to the father talk the entire flight. After much commotion he looked back to see what was going on. He walked back after the flight took off and told the mother to give the daughter back her phone. You would have thought WW3 was going to start on the flight between the 3 of them.
Guess the whole family is to blame

Unfortunately, cell phone use and texting are not the number one reasons for inattentive driving.  Eating, smoking come out ahead.  It is also age related, the younger the more likely.  Most dangerous thing on the road.........a sixteen year old with a cell phone.
