Here's a head scratcher
« on: June 11, 2012, 10:16:48 PM »

Have a 12 SESG and decided to get the Harley Goodies floor extenders. Got me fast and quality is top notch. Following the instructions I remove the right floorboard.  I notice that there are already spacers that are part of the bike. Ok, i remove them and measure the existing ones with the new Goodies. The difference is 1/4 inch. So I don't follow. There is supposed to be an inch difference. Am I supposed to install the new part and the existing part together?  Clearly I am missing something. Help!!

Did you replace the stock head pipe?  When I took off the right floorboard, I found spacers (thick washers) that were part of the Rush True Dual installation.   I took those spacers off and just used the Harley Goodies.

Good point. I had VH Power Duals installed. Do you think that they came with the pipes?

They did.  No spacers there from the factory.  They do come with a few different exhaust systems though.

I will confess that the reason I knew is because I put the Harley Goodies extenders on last Saturday.

A lot of guys love the floorboard extensions for comfort.  Don't want to rain on the parade   :soapbox:  but the SESG's are lowered 1" in the rear (really 9/16").  If you have that combination (lowered plus extensions), you might want to read Jonga's thread about hitting the floorboard supports and going down:  Floorboard extentions being removed.  Just sayin'...   :nervous:
