Glad your buddy is ok.  It's scenes just like that that always made my private parts tuck up behind my belly button when doing any open wheel.  Was ok with midgets.  Can't explain the difference but always enjoyed the hell out of midgets while even Karts were never my cup of tea.  It's more fun to be able to bang off each other.

Oh yeah, the cage makes all the difference in the world for the "after" part of any bumping.  It's the "before" part I was considering.  Open wheel cars or Karts just seem so damned delicate.  Midgets could always bounce off stuff a little more.  Either that or I was younger and stupider .

I'll bet he was not happy with the person who slowed for no apparent reason.  Looks like his helmet did a good job of protecting his noggin'.  Bummer about the brand new car though.

Scott glad he's ok! Open wheel cars just like to get in the air on impact. If you watched the Indy 500 this year you probably seen our drive Mike Conway get up into the wall and fence, even with the new Dallara DW12 Chassi with rear wheel protection. He's very lucky to have walked away from that one as his roll bar was just rubbing on the fence or better known as a cheese shredder much like the crash that took DW's life.

yep...saw that.  Worst possible position - helmet towards the fence.  Very scary for sure.

Ouch!  Glad he wasn't hurt.  Seems rather risky witht the open wheel set up.  One touch and off ya go...
