I may be in love ~ Rinehart 4" mufflers
« on: June 24, 2012, 01:40:55 PM »

I seem to be a “Muffler Snob”.
I’ve had several types and brands over the past few years and I thank the Classifieds on another site for allowing me to sell the old ones, so I can upgrade from time to time.

I’ve had RUSH (2¼” & 1¾”), Vance & Hines (Big Radius, Twin Slash, Monster Ovals & Monster Rounds) they all sounded nice.

Now I have never been a big fan of the 3 ½” Rineharts. They were just a little raspy high sounding to me and usually too loud.

But I must say I think I am in love once again. I put on the 4” Rineharts.
I will also add that I do have “True Duel Headers” for form, fit and function.
However I have never been a big fan of the sound from the True Duels, but I am now.

I had planned on another style, but my tech recommended the 4" for their deep sound. Took a chance on that, and damn glad I did! LOVE the sound, and especially the low rumble at idle.

Nice bike!

I have the Rhinehart 3.5s and have enjoyed the sound.  Although a bit loud, I do not detect any raspyness as suggested, but perhaps someone could point it out sometime.

Even so, I have been wanting to upgrade these to the 4 inchers.  They have a deeper mellower sound, but when cranked report well.

My question is:
Can they be swapped using the same headers?  If so, I may have a pair of 3.5s on sale real soon!

The Rinehart 4" mufflers sound awesome.

I haven't heard them with true duals - but a friend with '10 Ultra runs them with a Fullsac X-Pipe, and they sound great. For our 110" engines they are fine, but they probably don't have enough restriction for good low-end on his 96" engine, even with the excellent tune he has.
