Disable alarm
« on: July 08, 2012, 10:26:38 AM »

I have an 07 SEUC. Is it possible to turn off the alarm? I have an issue for a couple of years now that no one can seem to figure out. Ive had it to the dealership ect and checked everything there is to check. This problem is intermitten but seems to happen when the bike operating temp is hot and or when it is very warm outside. (seems to be heat related). When the bike is hot and I shut it off then try to restart it after a few minutes the starter switch is dead. In otherwords when you turn on the main power switch and then the on/off switch everything lights up but when you hit the starter switch nothing happens. So what I have to do is take a jumper wire from the battery terminal on top of the starter and jump it to the terminal on the front of the starter (where the green wire connects) to turn the motor over to start it. This works but is very embarrassing to say the least. Once the bike sits awhile the switch works as it should. The bike acts like the alarm is disabling the starter switch. So I would like to try and disable the alarm and see if this has any affect on my problem if possible :nixweiss:

If the problem was actually being caused by the security system, you wouldn't be able to start the bike using the method you've been using either since the security system would shut down the ignition system and fuel system.  I think it would be more fruitful to check the other items that can lock out the starter, like the new for '07 clutch/neutral interlock switch or the starter relay.

hgnv, i agree with grc, it's probly not your tssm. but yes the dealer can turn off your alarm just like it was new
before it was set up and drive it long enough to see if any thing happens. intermittent electrical problems can be
a pain to fix.  let us know how it turns out.   axil
