Only one of many.  But at least this one is easily remedied.

I was checking this out yesterday and it said they are no longer available at J&P. I'm going with EGlide Goodies and ordered one for Jerry and shipping is $16.95 so it comes out to a little over $8 for both and I'm getting the improved version TB-3. It was $13.95 for one so only $3 more for the second one:2vrolijk_21:

Does Jerry get one of the old "junkers?" :nixweiss: :P

Your coment is a little funny cause I was just thinking; This subject has come up a few times over the the years and each time it leads to panic buying the E-Glide brace, basically why I bought mine a couple years ago..  Nothing negative here, just an obversation.. and by all means, IMO the E-Glide is the way to go and a must have item. :2vrolijk_21:

It's a timing thing, I bought the retractable version because I wanted a cleaner installation than wrestling the stock cord, then really questioned the strength of it once installed.  Been real careful opening the lid for fear it would snap, never keep the lid open for that reason.  This thread just caught me at the right place and right time which happens often on this site as we "fine tune" our bikes over time.

Btw, ordered mine Saturday and it is being delivered today!

Installed my ultra brace this morning, looks and works great!

Used pop rivets as recommended in the instructions for that factory installed look.

That lid is a heck of a lot more expensive than the 70.00 they are asking for that brace... ordering one now.  So glad I came across this thread.  :2vrolijk_21:

Make that 84.00 with shipping...

Wow, talk about timing.  Was just in a dealer in Kentucky this past weekend looking at the new 110 anniversary "stuff".  During the "lookie-see", I walked around looking at all the left over 2012's sitting in the showroom (not counting the crates still in the back not unpacked) and looked at a RG the dealership had upgraded with a bunch of options.  One was a new tourpack with the teather y'all have been discussing.  This was a new bike...opened the tour pack lid and halfway open, the tether caught and broke....did I mention this was a new bike?  I went to a salesman to explain what happened.  He laughed (yep) and said not to worry, that happened often.  According to him, they were swapping back to the normal string/strap set-up for that bike as that was the second tether that had broken on them.

Sounds like a bad design there and yes, it felt like a string to me and not the least bit sturdy.  First thing I thought of was what if I had a loaded bag on the lid rack and that happened..... :'(

The answer to that would be $$$$.$$ and a big fight with the moco most likely.

You guys talked me into it and I ordered up one for BLUU. My best fiend on his 103 limited had his retractable cable break on him and it peeled back the whole L/H side of his tourpak. About $1,200.00 damage and a very sick feeling. I am very careful with openning my tourpak but this brace should give me a better piece of mind!! :2vrolijk_21:
