No drilling at all.  Pull out the small plugs on the edge of the inner fairing and line up the deflectors.  They come with the appropriate torx screws.  So easy to install. Takes about 5 minutes on each side,,,,   NO DRILLING NEEDED!!!
Do they have any type of foam or rubber so as to not mar the finish?...so if they get removed you don't see where they were.

No.  But you won't need any.   Just line  up the screw holes and they are held on with 4 torx screws on each side.   Really easy and they work great.   Get em,, you won't be disappointed.
