Spesifications on 96 cui and 110 cui
« on: August 13, 2006, 03:19:35 PM »

I have a question about the new 96 cui and 110 cui engines. How many kW do they deliver? (or bhp)

Check out the Screamin Eagle section of the new 07 parts catalogue and look at the dyno charts next to the page with the 110 kit, There's a graph for torque and hp for the base 96 and the 110 build up. Other than that, I have not seen an hp # on the new 96,

Really good article in the August Thunder Press. I know there are regional versions of this, but I believe there is commonality in the major articles. Very in depth discussion of why anyone riding anything other than an 06 Dyna should want to trade up to an 07. If anyone sees an article in any of the glossy table top mags let me know, I need a dose of reason every month when the payment slip arrives in the mail   [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Think that's going to be about the average for the 96".  Talked to a dyno friend who has done several and they seem to run from high 60's to a high of 74 out of the box.  Sure leaves a long way to go to make 'em run.....

Well - the Twin Cam was the first "All New" motor since the "Knuckle" (EVO being the last revision) - then I have the last version of that original version of that next generation motor...

Yea - that 2006 is a keeper and I'll be happy till the MotorCo comes out with a nice V-4 water cooled monster with ABS.  :)

Are you suggesting that the 2007 motor doesn't quailify as a Twin Cam? In 1970 when the cone motor was introduced that was considered the all new HD motor (check the advertisements)? In 1984 1/2 the all new evolution motor was introduced. 20 years from now the changes in '07 model year will be listed as a mere foot note in HD Twin Cam motor evolution

Well guys the O' Fender is right. No matter what the MOCO does to improve on the Twin Cam Motor it is still going down in history as The Twin Cam. The motor company made a lot of changes to motors in the past during production like the Shovel Head. When introduced it was a 74 ci model. When it went out of production it had been increased to 80ci. No matter what they were all shovels.

The O'Fender and the DAWG are both correct - it's still a Twin Cam, no matter what the displacement.

People tried to call the Twin cam the " Fathead " since H-D motors all had names based on head configuration but much like "Blockhead " never caught on for the EVO, that name fell by the wayside on the Twin cam. Kinda strange with the V-rod, cause nobody other than MoCo ad folks call it the Revolution. It's just the V-rod. Wonder what will happen if the day ever comes when they make a touring version or other models ?

Not exactly "just the vrod!"  It has a "head" name!  It's referred to as the "waterhead."

Very fitting, I guess!
