Shop around where? Does someone else aside form Jostens make the ring? If not, then HD is the only placxe to order it. Is there much of a pricing difference in Dealers aside from the one one mentioned above?

Wow, 20% off and it brought the ring DOWN to $700!!!! I was thinking along the lines of $400. I LOVE the design and the ring would be great, but $700? I donk like it that much!

Understand that was for my ring: 14 carat with all the diamonds. You can bring the cost much lower. When I ordered my ring, my model SEUC² had just been released. They said no problem to adding it to the side of the ring. As mentioned, the only way to buy an official HD ring is through a dealership that's why the 20% helps.

Josten's told me that if I sold the bike within a year of purchasing the ring, they would remake it to a new model at no charge.

I stopped at the local HD and asked them to price the ring I had designed. I got a "Who pooped in my Easter Basket" look from the girl behind the counter. After 3 calls to the Store Manger who was off, she handed my the attached pricing guide. It appears that the side panels and engraving is included in the listed price, but I might be wrong on that one. I am definitely not going with the 18K gold!

Just remember, if you sell the MC the ring is made for, HD requires you to return the ring & there is no refund.   :nixweiss:

What refund...I didn't pay for my ring anyway! Came with the bike and the gold key. :nixweiss:

Try sending the order form to several area dealers, and ask them whether they can provide a discount, especially if you deal with them on parts and/or service. Unfortunately, I didn't do this; I simply asked the dealer for a quote, without shopping around. And definitely stay away from the 14 and 18K styles; with gold prices these days, the cost is almost prohibitive.

Whew!!! Sticker shock from that price guide. Noticed that the large 14K that I purchased years ago is now almost 3X more than what I paid for it. Lucky investment without really knowing it.    JoeS

Holy chit I'm glad I don't wear jewelry.  That's like a set of cam chest parts :o !

AJ!!   How you doin' man?   :drink:

AMEN, TwoLane! I just spent about that for a Fueling 8015 cam plate, 7060 oil pump, a set of SE 259e cams, and some lightly used roller rockers and forged support plates! I'll get a LOT more benefit from all that than a CVO ring.

Update on Jostens ring
« Reply #27 on: September 09, 2012, 04:10:13 PM »

I posted a few months ago about a Jostens ring. For those that care and for those like me who procrastinated:

Good news! Jostens/Harley are offering a 110th anniversary ring, they are only making 1903 of them. The limited edition design was only $65 more than the classic design.

I ordered mine yesterday, Lustrium (The stainless Steele was $150 more and you have to clean SS, you can simply wipe down the Lustrium, per my expert jewelry adviser, the Wife!). I got the classic HD #! on the left and my FLTRUSE on the right side. My name and VIN number engraved on the inside. Total with tax was $448.11.
