SCAVENGER ALERT! - We were barely outside of Steamboat Springs and Gabe starts shouting, "Engines, Engines". I look around but the only engine I see or hear is my own 110. "Gabe, what are you squawking about?" .. Gabe points off the side of the road. "Oh Gabe, that's a TeePee but I don't see any Indians."

The scenery in NW Colorado and SW Wyoming is pretty sparse and most of nearly 400 miles looked pretty much the same. Not a great day for scenery but a wind full day and a windfall day for the scavenger hunt.

West of Rock Springs, WY on I-80, the scenery starts to look reminiscent of Utah but it's still Wyoming.

When the natural gas containers and solar driven pumps start to look interesting you know you're in the middle of nowhere special.

SCAVENGER ALERT! - When you're in the middle of nowhere what would you expect to find? How about a town with a population of less than 100. Welcome to Opal (Oh Pal) - Population 96

Notes: Kids don't try this at home. Two lane road, heavy with semis, state troopers and barely a shoulder to pull over on. I got the picture on my first attempt, thank goodness!.
