Hook up your iPhone and play music through Pandora.   Free and it great.  :2vrolijk_21:

Except when you go over your data limit......

XM is nice when the reception is OK...some spots around here are bad enough that I use my IPOD..seems better on the open road....still deciding if I am renewing the XM next year.

I had xm on my bike for many years.  I don't have it anymore and. Don't even miss it. Ifi want radio I'll play the radio.. If I want music I'll use the iPod or pandora.  Both seem better than xm to me anyway.   :nixweiss:  xm is almost like listening to regular fm anyway.  Some of those jockeys will never shut up.  I don't even use it that much in my car anymore either.  Definitely  over rated.

This is where we differ.......I have XM in one truck and Sirius in the other--and I use it all the time. Granted, I don't use Pandora on my phone and maybe if I did I would give up XM. Do you have unlimited data on your phone?

MP3 player/Ipod for me simply because I don't have XM. My truck came with something for a year and I did listen to it for the football games. I still like local radio as I get to hear what the dumb a$$e$ are doing locally.

I should try Pandora or something similar as I do have unlimited data for another year (Evil Verizion doing away with my unlimited...).

In my car the radio has a SD slot and I loaded my music onto a card as opposed to a teathered cord from the MP3 player to the radio.

Hmmm. I knew Verizon was no longer offering unlimited data plans but I thought you could keep it if you already had it. Of course when you upgrade to a new phone you will likely lose it. But if staying with same phone/plan can they take it away?

I used to have unlimited data, but switched for unlimited shared minutes/text with 1 gig data shared between myself and my gf. I thought for sure that we used way more than a gig from the amount of music we streamed, but when Verizon did analysis we never reached 3/4 of a gig in a one month period. Rep said its $10 to add another gig so check status towards end of cycle to be sure its within limit and if close then add a gig onto service to avoid going over.
So depending on who your carrier is, check to see how much you use. The only reason I keep XM is for O&A, all the music is just like FM to me. Pandora and iheart radio are great and thats what I use in my car. Would use in bike more often if I get around to working in bluetooth for phone to stereo. Just don't like fiddling with patch cable to phone on short trips.

I have the Ipod always hooked up in the saddle bag. Have 20 hrs of music on it but get tired of hearing the same music. Listen to XM until I get to places XM won't come thru. Usually in the mountains. Than I switch to the pod. Best of both worlds.

With Verizon if you had unlimited data you will continue to have it until your contract runs out as long as you don't make a plan change . I couldn't get a definite answer if it would continue as long as I didn't change my plan.

Ipod0d was new to me on my 2012 better sounding then XM, kinda went crazy and downloaded several albums and found out about 1/3 of the songs are only partially there, thought it might be the shuffle being turned on but same problem if i listen to them on home computer.
So i currently prefer XM unless in the mountains were it fades in and out then i switch to IPod

That's how Ive been doing it too, except the ipod is now located in the lowers thanks to the HDPDplus on my CUSE6. :2vrolijk_21:

Still miffed that HD couldn't see fit to either include an IPOD interface or at least make a harness to adapt theirs  :soapbox:
Oh well the HDPDplus was less expensive than HD's and the install was a LOT less hassle
