Evening in Oban. We had a B&B just next to the shore. I think we just sat there for two hours and enjoyed...

Found these rock carvings, dated back to 1800 BC. They are in the middle of a little village near Kilmichael. Based on the guide book, the "150 carvings on this rock were made by bronze age people, their purpose is unknown. Rock carvings of this kind are found only in the north of Britain with marked concentrations in Yorkshire, Northumberland, Galloway and Argyll. Wow...

Last pic for today. We met this very friendly biker near Loch Lomond. He came on his bike to the pub, wearing ONLY this. Respect! We had a great chat, but unfortunately he had to run soon because he was invited to a wedding (!)

Scotland is a great place (not just) for bikers - but you should be ready to accept "occasional" rain. I'll  be back  :2vrolijk_21:

The famous Eilean Dolan castle. Very nice location, but they had only one pub in the village, so it was VERY full in the evening    :drink:

That's actually Eilean Donan, but I'm glad you enjoyed Scotland!  :2vrolijk_21:

Next time you're coming, let me know in advance!

OK, this is my dream trip but would add more England, Wales, Ireland to the itenerary.  My wife and I want to spend about a month traveling all over this area.  We have a WBE group here in East Tennessee (Women of the British Empire) and we've got quite attached to them.  There are a few from Scotland (two of the couples are actually "back home" in Scotland now for a couple weeks) and the tales/pictures are wonderful.
Thank you so much for the pictures as well as the descriptions.  It's a dream trip and someday we will go. :huepfenjump3:

@Jim
Eilean Donan, you're right, my fault. Too many new names and impressions to remember :)

Should have contacted you in advance - we spent a night near Perth, seems this would have been close to you as well? Next time, I promise. THANKS!
You live in a great area for motorcycle riding - I loved the roads and the scenery.

@Ultrarider1: make your dream happen. This trip was on my agenda for a couple of years, and it never seemed the perfect time for it. This year I decided I would just go and do it - and I didn't regret it for one minute...

Ride safe

Yes, we are west of Perth, on the A85.  Next time I'll be able to tell you where more must-see places are (and hopefully ride with you to see them!)  :2vrolijk_21:

Hallo Alesius

What a great trip! Thanks for the nice pictures. They reminded me on my trip to Scotland in 1999!

Hope to see you soon at the SWISS CVO Meeting!

Sorry Achim, but I was looking forward to get home after >2 weeks - the weather wasn't great when I was leaving Belgium so I decided to take the Autobahn and get home asap.
Next time I'm close to Aachen I will let you know. Same for you when you get to CH.
Btw, any chance you can join us for the first Swiss CVO meeting on Sept 16th? Aero will send out an invite in this forum soon...

Hello Alesius,

I just read it about the CVO-meeting. But we stay on two trips during the next 6 weeks. So I don't know, if I have a chance to visit you at the meeting.

Up to now we had no ride this year. All planed trips we stopped due to unlucky circumstances.

Now situation allows us to start again and so we use the rest of time this year. Next Wednesday we start for 11 days to Wales and Cornwall and from sept. 25th to October 8th we start a roundtrip to Ireland.

But hope to see you next year, when we will visit the alps.

Best wishes
