the power numbers have been in line with the first one we did.. Seems to make the customers happy with the increasse in  power from a basic upgrade.  Further feedback has been great, even with  116 Temps the bikes are running fine..  But temps that hot make riding not a whole lot of fun.

Would the 54s be cooler temp? Or just as hot ... Just a casual rider that is looking for a small change.

According to the dyno charts Doc showed me I lost 15 ft/lbs of torque right at take off rpm's and in that lower range is where your bike lives 1500 - 2500 rpms. I have the Andrews 54 and .030 cometic head gaskets. Doc did get me running allot better. He showed me a better curve for these heavy bikes is with the stock 255 and some properly flowed heads. If you need further info I am sure Doc would give you some of his expert guidance. JM2C  Face

Both the 54 and 57 will have a large inpact on engine heat over the stock cam. To choose the 54 over the 57 that comes done to a much finer choice. Having done both the 54 and 57 cams in the 110 engines, I feel the 57 has a slight edge over the 54. Either one though is a good choice..  If you look at the tuned sheets you will see that if any loss on the low ends it very minor .. not enough to be overly worried about, and the gains else where more than make up for it..

Well, will a TTS Tuner make up what the CVO 255 is missing and stay cooler than the mods of the 54/57? I'm just wanting the most out of the engine and have read on the forum that what we paid on the CVO ... is the CVO 255 adequate with the TTS Tuner?  I'm installing a LeNale fan soon, so heat may not be as much a deal as having the pull on the existing cam or mods...

The 255 cam be tuned to run cooler than stock but its not going to run as cool as many of the bolt in cam options..  Do you plan on using V tune.. as I am aware that dyno tuning can be some what of an issue there on the island.

Haven't done a Dyno with my TTS program ... Most mechanics like other programs like Thundermax ...Would like to use what I have and learn the V-tune ... Suggestions? Putting the computer in the back would be easy ... But how long to take data?

Stock cams 110" with OEM (103" ACR castings) heads reworked, similar is easy to obtain with the stock heads reworked
That would be 100tq at 2k rpm 125 peak.
This was with a restrictive quiet pipe

I may be wrong but that is not a machine that does a sweep , its more like a steady state test at different rpm points.. Hard to compare that to most sheets.. Power looks good though..  ;) Do you have a 100% stock base line run on that machine?

I just did some VTuning on my 2012 CVO Ultra.  I put the lap top in the tour pack on a plastic mat on top of a folded blanket to isolate the vibration.  I did several VTune runs of 20-30 minutes each to gather data.  The Mastertune manual explains how to set up the computer so it wont shut off when you close the lid and how to upload your current calibration, create new calibrations from your VTune runs, and download into your bike.  The manual is clear and easy to follow.  The hardest part is to cover as much of the MAP vs RPM area as possible to get good data to create your calibrations.  The easiest way would be to have a remote monitor, but with the laptop in the trunk you just ride and hope you can cover as much of that region as possible.  You'll need to do some low RPM runs in a gear higher than you would normally ride, some high RPM runs in a gear lower than normal to cover the extremes, as well as hit as much as possible in between those extremes.  Its really a lot easier than I though it would be.

Yes see attached
BTW that would be a 20hp /15tq increase
Same dyno and testing method.
Begs the question how well the Andrews 57 or any of the other new cams will scale with similar head work. We will have to wait and see. I am sure they will work well.
Forgot to mention the test bike is an 07 and looking back in my records I found the CVO 110 heads were used on the final test, plus an 09 Catalytic Converter headpipe and SuperTrapp 3" internal disc slipons with only 18 discs and closed endcap. EU active exhaust valve was retained but left open.
