I like that look using the stock backrest.... I love the look of the seat, just not how it feels!

Yeah I hear ya man, I guess to each is own.  The stock seat is comfortable to me.  Even all day rides with it I have no issues.  After having Corbins before which I loved I purchased one for this bike and hated it.  Go figure.  Then I went to this setup because I need backrest support.  Happy camper now.

I have the DG Airhawk also and it will drop a bit as it breaks in. The best seat I have ever had in 30 years of riding...

Honest answer, also the most expensive? Especially for one butt only???  I think it looks GREAT! And if I didn't already have an inseam issue I might consider the air hawk one....

Curious, I just called Auto Original to find out prices, etc.  I like the idea of using the sissy bar pad as a driver backrest.  I spoke to Loren.  He and his son Seth are who do the seats.  They charge $250  to do the driver backrest out of the sissy bar pad.  They will also gel your driver's seat for $70 and gel the passenger seat for $50.  Seemed like a good guy to speak to on the phone.  He said they have done several of these now that word has started getting around.  Their website is http://autoorigional.net/index.html

Their phone number is (505) 327-1078

When I get mine done, I will try and post pics if I can figure it out.

I have a C&C with passenger seat. What do you think of the way the passenger seat attaches to the rider seat? Kind of concerned that it may rub the fender....so I don't use it. I just put the entire stock set up on for the BSR.

I had the same concern and didn't want to have to mess with the rubber on the fender, etc.. But, moreover, I hadn't planned on a rider 2 up, so I didn't elect to get the pillion. Looking back, I probably should have gotten it anyway when I picked it out since it might be more difficult to match the colors, style, and size now. I had them measure me and the seat before they made it exactly (was in Cali) so I love it. And the backrest and the 2" + on the solo forward reach seat keeps me from having to try and climb up the tank to get away from the heat like in June. But, exactly, I can use the stock setup should I ever have a passenger.

I have the C&C solo and passenger pillion.  No marks at all on the fender from the pillion.

Thanks, that makes me feel a little better about it. That leather wrapped steel tongue against the fender (if I'm putting it on correctly) makes me nervous :-\

Make sure you use the two washers provided (in addition to the nylo washers that are on the bike) when attaching the mounting hardware.  It lifts it away from the fender a little.

I'll post a couple of pictures of mine tonight. Maybe I'm just hooking it up wrong.
Thanks
