Checking bike over yesterday in preparation for road trip on Wednesday, 8/22/12, when lo and behold I spy a nail right in the center of the tread of my rear tire. So after a quick call to the dealer I am off first thing this morning for a new tire. Thank goodness for wheel and tire coverage on ESP.

Back home at lunch time and decide to double check the air pressure when I discover that I have a Dunlop American Elite on the rear vs the OEM Dunlop D407. What the heck? Quick call to the dealer confirms that they had a mis-shipment of the American Elites with the D407 sku. "Thought we got 'em all out of stock but oh well I guess not."
So back to the dealer for a swap. Not that I don't think the American Elite is a good tire but I just prefer to have matching tread patterns on both my tires. Know what I mean Vern?
So about 5.5 hours in ride and wait time and thank goodness I finally have a new and correct rear tire.
But I'm not complaining. Just glad I caught it here before I had a flat on the road.
