I was wondering the same thing. I have had mine on order for a month and a half and looks like another 30 days according to Progressive. I hope they are worth the wait.

I've been waiting too. Seems like weve been hearing another 30 days for at least 6 months now.

It's basically the same thing as the previous 940, except now they don't use the IAS designation for the shock valving technology.  IAS was a patented invention of Ricor if I remember correctly.  Now Progressive uses different nomenclature for what sounds pretty much like the same thing as the IAS.

Anyhow, if you want impressions ask the guys running the 940's.  Personally, I have serious doubts about a shock that claims to lower the bike 1" but still maintain the full travel of a 13" shock.  What they don't tell you in the ad is that the full travel of approximately 3" is the same as the regular 13" shocks, but the 940/944 instructions tell you to set the sag at 2" versus the normal 1" for the standard shock.  So the 940/944 set up per the instructions only has about 1" of travel in compression versus 2" of travel in compression for the regular shocks.

Oh, for those who don't know what I'm talking about, sag is how much the shock compresses from fully extended with just the weight of the bike and rider.  Also referred to as spring preload.

I wondered the same thing, Jerry...thought perhaps Progressive has figured out how to alter the laws of Physics.  I guess you can technically say it has the same travel as a regular 13" shock, but it's all in rebound...they are supposed to be nice shocks though.

Not going to go all technical....I've had a set on my 2005 SEEG for about 500 miles and I really like them.

Doubletap, Were they worth the $700 cost? Did they lower the bike like they said?  I am hoping the are. Did you replace the front with the Progressives's?

You guys who are looking for shocks may want to consider Suspension Technologies.  From what I gather, they are better reviewed than the progressives and cost less.  Jim (HD Dude) sells them and gives a CVOHarley discount.

X2, these are great shocks, superior to progressive IMO (had both) and you can't beat price and customer service from Jim!

I actually have the 940's. Direct Harley Parts has them for $489. I knew riders with both and couldn't see a $100 difference between the 940's and 944's.

I contacted Suspension Technologies and after speaking with the owner, Mike, I decided that I would go with their product. He was extremely informative and presented a lot of information that convienced me that he know what he was talking about and doing. When I spoke with Progressive I got a sales rep with a good part of my questions answered with - "I'd have to check on that"

I've had the 940's for over a year and really like them. As is usually the case, grc was dead on.......mine bottoms out easier than stock, but the handling is so much better that it is worth it.

What setting do you have your 940's set at ? I've got three lines showing and haven't bottomed out yet with two up.

The IAS technology is licensed by Edlebrock and Progressive had to send them a check for using it, not so with the new 944 units. Saves Progressive a few bucks per set, but the IAS deal works pretty good, had a set on my SEEG and a 99 Ram Air Bird, worked exceptional on both vehicles, hope new tech is as good.
