Did the skyway, blue ridge parkway,Tail of the Dragon & Jack Daniels 4300 kms in 8 days some of the best riding I have ever done.it was in the 90s to 100 every day but not so bad where we were riding.met some really great people along the way boy the Americans know how to treat you right, had some great BBQ,the only bad part was the last day it all came to a end back home.

I hope to make a similar ride next year...yeah the Yanks sure know how to throw out the welcome mat.. after you cross the border 5-10 km LOL

Great to know you had a wonderful time in East Tennessee and come back anytime.  The welcome mat is ALWAYS open here.  Great roads you rode.  The picture you have posted, was that at Fontana Village?  Sorta looks like some of the cabins there....
The Skyway is a wonderful ride and you can't go wrong with Hwy 129 (the Dragon).

The campground/cabins at the Crossroads of Time are fun, too.  Motorcycle only (this is at the store/gas station/gathering place on the NC side of hwy 129.  Also, next time you come through, try Bryson City for some great, older motels/B&B's.  East Tennessee/NE Alabama has been my home for 45 of my 51 years.  East Tennessee, NW North Carolina and most of North Georgia has some of the best areas to ride/sight-see on two wheels.  I had an opportunity to visit Canada (Alberta and British Columbia) on a cross country ride back in 1995 and had a great time in that part of Canada.  Look forward to coming back someday.  Also, make sure to visit Smokey Mountain HD in Maryville, TN on your next trip in.  I've seen MANY HD shops and I would rank SMHD up in the top 3 in the country.

great to hear that ya'll had a great time . we rode the tail on augugt 14 would of been cool to have met ya. we were on a 6151 mile ride which included sturgis and then over to the smoky's.

Glad you enjoyed the ride.  We did most of those rides in 2010 and they were some really good rides.

Cool, if you repeat the trip next year, post it early. If I'm out of Afghanistan, I'll invite you to Huntsville for some BBQ and beers!
