OK, I know this topic has been kicked around many of times. I think I've read all the posts/threads regarding how to wire the GPS harness for the Zumo 660. From what I gather, most folks are bypassing how the instructions indicate how to wire the harness (along the handlebar - obviously for a handlebar mount -, through the fairing, running it under the tank, down to the fuse box and making the appropriate connections there for power and ground), opting rather to find a power source at the cig lighter or on the back of the headlight. I'm assuming a good ground can be found in the fairing as well?
Given my lack of knowledge about electricity and my bike ('12 SESG), it sounds like a huge ordeal to pull the tank, route the harness through the fairing, down the frame and then connect to the fuse box. Am I right? I would rather wire it in the fairing than going through all that other hassle.
Any advice on the best, easiest way to wire this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
