Xm/cb relocate bracket.
« on: September 05, 2012, 05:16:41 PM »

I was trying to mount an amp on my bike but just didn't have enough room on top of the stereo. The xm and cb module wouldn't allow the room for the fairing. So decided to relocate the modules under the stereo. This is a couple of pics. More to come when I get it on the bike.

Found a piece of sheet metal at lowes. Started laying things out. Measure twice, cut once.

Nice work!  I'm eager to see what it looks like mounted in the fairing and how much clearance it will leave for the headlight/outer fairing once installed.

There should be no clearance problems with his design as far as the modules below the radio are concerned. One other forum member as well as J&M have been making a relocation bracket like that for a few years. The clearance issues begin when the amp mounted on top of the radio is too large.

Great Job! We all know there is very little room to mount an Amp under the faring. I have the CB, XM, I-Pod and Blue-tooth Module mounted on top of the Radio and there isn't any room for anything. Put my JL Audio amp in the tour pack. My problem with all the amps that are made to fit under the faring are not of the Quality I was looking for. Again, Great Job and Good Thinking!   :2vrolijk_21:
