900 miles in a day

just rode 900 miles in a day, it was a piece of cake. I love my 11.5 ultra. I have done this ride in the past and have stopped after 650-700 miles. On this trip it, was different, no tiredness, weather co-opereated, it was great. I'm running the fulsac head pipe and rinehart slip ons and was grinning the whole way. I have a decel pop that steve has been helping me with, very minimal, and that didn't even bother me. Just sharing my happiness. i was laid up last year with foot surgery right after I bought my bike. This was my first real ride on it and loved it, just sharing. Rode from Chicago to Hartford, CT.

Some number of miles in a day may be something we measure by.  But it's really not the primary measure for regular travel.  It's a lot easier to do 600 or 800 or 1100 or whatever one's limit might be in a day's travel than it is to do close to that then get up the next morning and do nearly the same thing again. 

We can often ride through that first day but not know until the next morning how beat up and sore you might feel.  If day two or four or seven is good also then you know you've got a bike that's dialed in to you.

I believe I could have, I was at my destination though. I had planned to stop after 650-700 but I felt good and kept going. BTW it was a 15 hour day, hit some traffic in PA and in CT, also did take at least 15-20 minutes at gas stops.
