Thanks I had not even thought about those.

No problemo.  I've been a Mini and MINI fan for years.  The miniusa.com site has just about all the info you need.  I always liked the original but was hooked when the "new" MINI came out in 2002.  If you want some more details and information on them since 2002, shoot me a PM and I'll share a bit from what I've learned in owning them.
There's a guy here in Oak Ridge that has quite a few of the originals.  Every once in a while, you see him tooling around in one of them....and you thought the Smart car was small... ;D
Speaking of Smart and to put their size in perspective...the Smart is 4 FEET shorter than my 2005 MINI.
There's a great forum site for all MINI discusion.  Here's the link if you are interested  www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/
...been a member there for 7 years but like the CVOHarley site better.... :2vrolijk_21:

I'd stick with the Pontiac...    The Miata has a certain reputation , not for me - but if it suits your fancy go for it  :nixweiss:

We traded a Solstice GXP in on a Wrangler.

IMO the Solstice looks cool and thats about it.

In 10,000 miles we had these problems:

Passenger outside door handle broke, common problem.
Console cup holder broke, common problem.
Water pump went out, thankfully there is a 60k powertrain warrenty.  It is a gear driven pump on the back of the engine.  About $1000 to replace.
Interior does not wear well.
Top does not seal well, the Jeep top seals better.
Tires are very expensive.
Uses premium fuel.
The owners manual "recommends" synthetic oil.
Not much DIY maintenence unless you have access to a lift.
There is no spare tire or jack.  The car comes with a can of fix-a-flat.  (no kidding)

We would not own another one.

GET THE MINI DAVE!  Did I say that well enough... :2vrolijk_21:

I am sure the Mini will be brought up by my wife again soon, as I put the deposit on the 13 CVO King with out saying a word to her about it.  And I got the last new vehicle, an Evoque.  So, I am sure as soon as the king comes in, she will be on my azz about her turn.

A bit off topic here but what do you think about the Evoque?  I've only seen one but really like the lines and all the articles say it's a hit.  On the MINI, I don't know how you feel about our local dealer in Knoxville but if I was to buy another (not likely...gonna keep Tiger til I'm too old to drive...) I'd drive the 170 miles West and buy, again, at MINI of Nashville.

OK, back to the motorcycle discussion.... :bananarock:

I really like the Evoque, nice for two people and the Lab.  Really don't have but 5400 miles on it in the 10 months I have had it.  Most my miles go on the bike.  I have 15K on the bike I got with in two weeks of the Evoque.

I have only once talked with the Knoxille Mini dealer, seemed ok

GET THE MINI DAVE!  Did I say that well enough... :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry for highjacking the thread here but....

Dave, here's "Tiger".  Not an S model but still plenty peppy.  I average 34.5 around town and 38+ on a trip.  Only made the Hot Orange 2 years.  Orange and blue inside, too.  I'm a BIG Auburn fan and had to have this color combination.  Bought used from original owner that was more OCD than I am when it comes to vehicles.... :2vrolijk_21:

OK, back to the original topic....but flash, ya need to look at the MINI's..... :bananarock:

WoW. Hijacked the thread 4 times in the same day.......KEWL :jack:
