No, the EITMS is revised/newer for 2007's. It is an included option with the new SERT software. Pre 2007 models do have a heat management system that reduces idle, richens the FI, and skips fuel delivery on every other intake stroke. Here is an excerpt from my SERT manual about the new 2007 system which actually does all of the above and also shuts the rear cylinder down if needed.

Model Year 2007:
New for all Big Twin vehicles there is an optional Heat Management System called the

Can the earlier SERTs use this software and if so would the EITMS work on pre 07 models?

No - there is a checksum that the software checks before loading to ensure it is on the correct motorcycle - plus who knows what this might cause on our bikes if it could be enabled...

Obvisouly the new bikes were designed with said feature from the start...

What would be the down side of having this enabled on the bike? There must be some reason they don't just enable it from the start on all the bikes with this option.

Good question. I was thinking the same thing. Even with the new SERT software this feature is automatically disabled unless you specify otherwise.

This may sound funny but a tech told me when activated it smells bad.

It even states that in the SERT manual.  [smiley=toilet.gif]

As I read the service buillitin....it describes the system and what it does and then says that the customer may opt to have it disconnected or removed by contacting the dealer.  So it appears, to me at least, that it's already activated on delivery of the bikes and that the bike has to be taken to a dealership to have it deactivated.  Am I reading this wrong? Dealer is supposed activate once no charge and deactivate once no charge. HD Digital Tech download or change is only action needed. No SERT required from what I have read.Dealer is supposed activate once no charge and deactivate once no charge.

My dealer programmed my SERT on my '07 SE Ultra this past week and he did calibration #84. He said the SERT did not give him an option for programming in the heat management system.

I have an '07 S\E Ultra and have experienced a very noticable vibration at 2600 - 2800 rpm's after the cycle has been driven for 25 plus miles on a hot day.  It feels exacatly like a cylinder shut off.  The dealer says they cannot duplicate or find a problem.  This ios my 14th Harley and I just came off a '04 S\E Electra Glide so i know what to expect from a big twin.  Any Suggestions?
