I really like my 9" Freedom Works shield.  :2vrolijk_21:  Have you checked this shield out?

Get a 7" Freedom Shield. You should be able to see over it. You can also have faring pouches with the Freedom Shield. Klock Werks you cannot. Hope this helps.   :2vrolijk_21:

I'm 5'8" and have a 6.5 Klock Werks and it's pretty good but still get some buffeting. Switched to a LRS 7" and less buffeting. The girlfriend say the LRS is a lot better for her so that's what I have on the bike now. I prefer the look of the KW though but in this case I opted for function over looks. I can see over both shields no problem and I'm 2" shorter than you.

HDNUT, You and I are about the same height and I didn't have any problem seeing over my 7" smoked Freedom Shield. I love the quality, thickness, and finished edges of the shield so much that I'm putting one on my new FLHXSE3. Being able to look over the shield combined with the curved upper edge help deflect the wind up over my head and my BSR's head. Plus he has a money back guarantee that includes if you install it and test-ride it. Check them out; you'll be glad you did.

Hello neighbor, I'm in Caledonia

Before you buy, at Ukes you can demo a HD wind splitter for the day

Torso height & which saddle your using plays a role in which shield is right for you too

I also got the 7" Freedom Shield, I love it, I look over it just fine. I am about 5'10".
This shield is thicker than stock, and much better looking.

Another  :2vrolijk_21: for Long Ride Shields.

Been running their shields since I first bought the 09 SG. Currently running their 8" Ultra on the 12 SESG also have the 7" as well.

James and LRS are great guy's. Just a couple of weeks ago I was involved in a fund raiser where we where raising money for a friend who ended up being paralyzed from the waist down after a bad wreck on his 11 SG. James was kind enough to allow me to auction off one of their Ultra Shields in the winners choice of tint and size.

I'm also 5'10" and with the current seat I'm running HD Signature Series Solo which sits higher than the stock seat, with the 8" Ultra I see over the shield just fine.

They also just introduced their newest version of the Ultra called the Ultra Elite which is made from hard coated polycarbonate which is supposed to be scratch resistant. The are running a special on them right now for $89.99 regular price is $129.95 and I'll more than likely be ordering one soon.

In case your interested heres a link to their websit. http://www.longrideshields.com/ Tell them Jim sent ya.  :)

Hd Nut
IMHO I think the Klockwerks Flare is awesome .
I use the 6 inch on short trips and swap out to the 8 inch on long trips .
I am 6 foot tall and can just see over the 8 inch , and easily over the 6 inch . The 6 inch still scoops bugs over the top of me ( doesn't work for gravel though ;-) )
But it's also about body proportion , some of us have long torsos etc , just keep that in mind .
I ended up with 8 different windshields before I finally found the Klockwerks , so I have tried others .
Freedom is also good , a lot thicker and stable at speed. Genuine HD screens unfortunately are pretty average .
Good luck
Dave
