Hey Pete, in case the dealership can't find stock in place at some other dealer and if you decide against using the used injectors that have been stored (clean baggies!) here's the place I'd try next for new.  Marren Fuel Injection.  In fact I'd order from them before I'd order new from Harley even if Harley had stock.  It's the only place I know that will actually flow match a pair of injectors for HD bikes.  They're also still cost competitive.

Worth a look if you decide against the freebies.  In fact for their cost I'd strongly consider a new pair versus good used freebies that have been stored for a long time.  The freebies are certainly better than nothing though.

Send me your address PJ.  I've got two or three sets of what should be good used injectors.  All running ok when they came off.  Will put a set in the mail.  Then you can change them and tell the shop to go pound salt.

There Ya go,,,   Doesnt get any better.   :2vrolijk_21:

I would take Don up on his offer.
There is only a 50% chance the issue was diagnosed correctly anyway.

You beat me to the punch.  And if this place is typical, your 50% estimate is generous.

I wouldn't assume those guys actually got the diagnosis right.  And it's really unusual for two different injectors to fail at the same time.  Perhaps what they need is a good bench cleaning, or perhaps the injectors aren't the problem at all.  I don't have much faith in Harley shops in general any more, so perhaps I'm a little too negative.  But when you have that conversation with the GM, I think I'd insist if I pay them for the diagnosis and a set of injectors and it doesn't fix the problem, he agrees up front to refund your money.  Don't let yourself be another like the guy Don posted about recently.

No Jerry, you aren't too negative. You are just being realistic.  With the moco, service is an afterthought at best.

I hate to go against the crowd but I have to agree with Boxman, I have had absolute great service with 2 dealers (the 1 out of state where I bought my bike and my local one) with both going way "above and beyond" for me. I completely trust my local dealer andthey have not let me down yet. I see the horror stories on here and feel terrible. I do think that building a relationship and understanding that this is how they make their living is key. They have overnighted parts for me on multiple occasions and not only not charged me extra but still have given me the same very fair discount as always.
No I don't work for them...

We have 2 HD dealers on the island here.. one charges $85/hr and the other charges $105/hr

Customer service varies at both.. there are a limited number of licensed techs, and they play the market well. This in turn drives up the labor costs...  :soapbox:

I've had a couple of small snafu's but nothing major... the biggest problem here is of course parts arent within driving distance. If it isnt in stock, it simply isnt.

Almost all the HD parts get here via UPS ground (even though they travel by air)

I watch guys scream and yell all day long and I think to myself... why?... you're on an island inthe middle of the ocean... spend a day at the beach.

And a beautiful island it is too!  Spent 10 days there in April for the first time.  Didn't really want to make the trip but the family insisted. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and didn't want to leave!!! .....only saw one HD dealer though...........(57 next month with bad knees and made it to the top of Koko Head too by the way!....pretty proud of that!)

You probably saw Cycle City out near the airport... there is a smaller, more country dealership about 12 miles west of CC.

Glad you enjoyed your time here...

Good friend of mine that has my 03 eg had a problem with his "injector" on the rear cylinder.  We swapped the injectors around and still had a problem.  It was a now and then problem where the engine wasn't getting gas,,, found out it was the wire to the injector that was the problem.  It had a bad spot.  As short,,   Cut the bad section away and spliced the wires back together.   No problems since.     Are you sure its the injector?    :nixweiss:

My "Local" dealer sucks crud. The closest dealer I trust is about 1.5 hour drive.

Local shop screwed me enough I won't buy a $10 item from them, will drive to next dealer or order online first.

Final report:  picked up bike...injector replacement fixed miss. Service manager apologized for run around with parts. Said it would not have happened on his watch (he was on vacation). Discounted service order to smooth things over.  My call to GM may have prompted his response, but i gotta' admit in the end I'm satisfied and favorably impressed. PJ

I spent two days trying to figure out what kind of brake calipers I have.  The parts guys (both kids) looked at them and told me they think the calipers are aftermarket.  Turns out they are accessorey calipers with an 05 p/n that are now discontinued.

Ive only ridden Harleys for thee years and my knowledge in many areas exceeds the knowledge of the parts and service "professionals" at my local dealership.

Curious what you've got.  The only accessory calipers from the P&A book I remember were just chrome versions of the originals.  They look the same (just shinier).  Can you share a picture?
