A few pics of my scoot with its new wheels..
« on: October 08, 2012, 11:02:52 AM »

Still waiting on my intake but she is looking pretty good right now. Is it just me or does going from a 18" rear to 17" make all the difference in the world. It seems like it rides ALOT better with the 17!

Looks like you used a 21x3.5" with a Metzler 120 in the front. What did you use to lower the rear besides the rear tire and wheel?

Nice! :2vrolijk_21:  Welcome to the site.

How does the 21" front affect the handling?  Depending in who you talk to, it either handles better, or it ruins the handling.  It would be nice to hear from someone who's actually living with the change.

That looks great! :2vrolijk_21:

A few questions for you:

1) Did you change the front suspension (i.e. monotubes, stock or shorter height)?
2) Are you using the stock kickstand?
3) 17 inch rear wheel: what size width?

By the way, I have heard that if you go 21" in the front, go 17" in the rear for a better handling bike...seems you agree?

Thanks everyone... I have the stock front suspension. I have the progressive kit sitting at home to lower the front, but i dont think it looks bad how it is. It is the stock kickstand. I cant notice any difference in the way it sits on the stand... The rear wheel is 17X6 with a 200 rear tire. I have put about 200 miles on it since changing the wheels and the ride is hands down better than the stock ride.

The first time I rode the bike with the 21 I could definitely feel it handling a little different then with the 19. I wouldnt say it was bad or good... but im already used to it and love it now.
