You have a '12, therefore a key.  You go first.

You probably needed to read my post where I said I like the keepsake and thought MoCo dropped the ball, ceasing this program.  This is for one of the guys that does not see much value in this keepsake and says they have them laying around in boxes, and don't see what the big deal is all about.

If that's you, then it's your opportunity to give it to someone that appreciates it. :)

That's me.  But you probably need to read my post where I said I don't want to have to worry about some a-hole I don't know having a key to my bike. :huepfenlol2:

I don't believe I'm missing the point, this was directed to those that say they don't want theirs and don't understand the concern that some of the 2013 CVO owners have concerning MoCo ceasing this program.
Ok, then my (second) point to those 2013 owners that don't have one is... "If you have your own CVO and it didn't come w/the key then just consider it a modification the MoCo didn't do and purchase one keyed to your bike. :2vrolijk_21:"

If a guy can pony up $35K to $38K for a toy (CVO whatever) don'tcha think he can pony up another $80 lousy bucks for a brass key (keepsake) that is specifically keyed for his CVO.  Where's the pride in owning a special keepsake that fits someone elses bike?   :nixweiss:

The 2013 owners can pony up for the keepsake, but I think the point has been proven that no one on this site despite what they say about the value or the unimportantance of the keepsake, that there really is value to the program.  The absence of volunteers who came forth, and shared those views is evident! ;D

Yes, indeed, there is value to a thief that could walk away with my bike with the third key that have no need for.

but I think the point has been proven that no one on this site despite what they say about the value or the unimportantance of the keepsake, that there really is value to the program.Hello, there WAS value to the program. But that was a 2012 and earlier program has now been discontinued. If I wanted a CVO coin or tickets to the museum I'd buy them and wouldn't whine because my 12 or 11.5 didn't come with it.  The absence of volunteers Absence of volunteers? You got to be kidding? I paid dearly for the keys I own and only offered a key to Inferno. I offered it because he seems like a good guy. who came forth, and shared those views is evident! ;D

This is not politics, this is not an entitlement issue.
If someone wants a key go buy one.
If I want to give one of mine away I will.
And if I do it will be my idea not someone else's.
So Inferno if you want a key come to a CVO GTG and I'll bring you a one.

The 2013 CVO owner package includes a CVO Collector Coin (which replaced the key) and CVO Gold H-D Museum Membership. The CVO Collector Coin is both model year and model specific and is only available to new model 2013 CVO purchasers. The 1-year H-D Museum Gold membership gives you unlimited visits for 2 adults plus up to 4 guests with each visit, 2 limited edition Museum dog tags, certificate for a free audio tour, 10% discount at the Motor Bar and Restaurant, Café Racer, The Shop and Online Art Shop, and more.

You should expect the H-D Museum Gold membership kit and CVO Collector coin to arrive within 4-6 weeks of your purchase.

I can find anywhere H-D has a owner package. The dealer doesn't even know about it.

May as well toss in my 2cents.

I've never used my key, rarely look at it, but I like having it. Sorta like an heirloom. Things have different meaning for different people, and I consider that the key was a token gesture of bling for the original owner.  I intend to keep it when I trade for my 2013 next month.  If it is such an insignificant trinket, let the dealer or next owner buy one.  I'm already giving them all of the thousands of dollars of upgrades on the bike, AND I'm even throwing in the original head pipes as a bonus!  They can melt it down and make thousands of keys!

Honestly, as others have said, it is not the value, but the gesture.  It was something that I think most CVO owners appreciated, so why "F" with it?
