I was just looking at a new email from HD on the new 110's tank badges, " Like a fingerprint, each badge -forged from solid bronze- is subtly unique"  I think I figured out why they couldn't do the keys for the 2013's CVO guys. Moral to the story, the 110's meant more to them than the CVO's in my eyes, you 2013 owners go grab a tank badge and call it even!  :2vrolijk_21:

Likewise.  I never opened the box the one for my '04 SEEG came in and the one for the '12 SEUC is in a box with the cover that will never be used, either.

I think it's a good thing they quit providing them.  How many ever actually went along with the bike when it was traded or sold?

Geezz guys!  Unlike many of you, this is the first CVO that I was able to afford.  Been wanting one for many years.  So I saved up for a few years (which was an accomplishment for me) and also sold my current bike. They have always provided a Gold Key as a status symbol of there top of the line motorcycle.  I realize that its just a piece of brass that's not worth much itself and or to many of you.  It would have been just nice to have, thats all.

Hey inferno, it's ok, we understand. We are just glad you got what you wanted and then found this great site.
If you can make it to a GTG someday,  remind me and I'll bring you a key.
That's the way we roll here!

At least the MoCo is still giving something to the CVO buyer.  Ford's Special Vehicle Team (SVT) used to give out certificates of authenticity with their vehicles that listed build date and the number of each unit in the limited run. Suitable for framing. ;)  When I purchased my last 2010 Shelby GT500 and SVT Raptor I got nothing. Almost $100,000 and not even a stinking peace of paper to tell me how special I am. :huepfenlol2: Cadillac sent me a gift box with some mints, mini- telescope, polishing rag, etc. when I bought my CTS-V. Worth anything? No, but it's nice that they think enough of your business to let you know with something other than the typical thank you letter.

As far as my gold key goes, I actually have one of them displayed in the open case next to my framed Designers print of my Z4 that BMW sent me. :2vrolijk_21:

Both of mine did.  I figured it was a part of the bike and the next owner should get it.  :nixweiss:

This is amazing, I have two of the gold keys from my bikes and one a guy gave me after he sold his bike. NONE of them have ever been used or carried. I have no idea where they even are, yet some people are upset over not getting one? That, of all things that have changed over the years means nothing to me, but evidently to others it was important, but I can not figure why.

Dave, you're freaking me out.   That sounded way to informative for a regular guy.  Are you HD Customer Relations?  If so, what numbskull done away with the keys?  You can tell me, I promise not to publish name and number all over the internet with an affiliation towards free exotic dancing.

I use my "gold" key daily. Keep it on my key chain with the fob.  It's always there to remind me that in the moco's mind, brass is to gold as CVO's are to . . .

Thats wonderful if you live in the Milwaukee area and can take advantage of the tours etc. What about the many others who live in far off places.
