So far, I have not dropped the Ultra but on a couple of occasions dropped my GL1800, with the wife on board. They are more top heavy. It was very embarrassing, to say the least. Each time, I went to put my foot down, but the distance was greater than the balance of the bike would allow. Otherwise, we've been very fortunate not to have a mishap.
When I bought my current bike, the dealer asked me if I wanted to ride it up onto the trailer. I refused and asked them to do it, knowing I'd never performed that maneuver before and had only ridden the bike a few miles. No way was I going to assume I could ride it up a 2' wide ramp and safely stop where required. As it were, he made it look easy. I'm sure he did it many times in the past. That is one thing I'd want to practice a few times, just to get a feel for it.
It appeared the white chopper that fell caught at the top of the ramp and was thrown off. Not the riders fault and just bad luck. Lowered bikes with long wheel bases bring their own set of challenges on ground clearances.
While there were a few idiots in the video, I'd not say all were. They were simply unfortunate victims of circumstance.
It looked to me the bike that went down at the intersection (while coming at the camera) was thrown off balance by improper braking. He was looking at the camera and lost his horizon - he then panicked. Dummy. He needs some practice.
