I went with a pit bull lift. Its very stable. With that said they say the lift is made in USA. Maybe the frame is. The air/hydraulic jack is china made. The jack on mine leaks oil. I wash my bike on the lift and it is rusting. Granted these lifts are not advertised for such. The handle is the cheapest piece of crap I have ever had come loose in my hand! My old sears has a MUCH better handle! I also have a hard time storing it because its so wide.
I like the lift but the handle ruins what would be the total package.

I am very happy with my Pitbull......Also look at the J&S jack. You can't go wrong with either of these. I chose the pitbull because it raises the bike up higher.

I spent some time researching floor jacks and am very happy with the one I chose. J&S Jacks in my opinion are the best. Cost me a few bucks to have it shipped to Canada, and was well worth it. Pitbull was my second choice. My $.02

I love my air actuated Pitbull lift with the rotary table. Makes cleaning and working on my bike  incredibly easy.

The PitBull needs 5 inches minimum.
