100th Anniversary Striping
« on: August 30, 2006, 01:36:43 AM »

Has anyone had any luck in replacing the 100th Anniversary Striping after an accident or whatever. I'm referring to the Silver stripe that had Harley-Davidson written in very small text on a 45 degree angle. (Some H-D CAD wiz with waaaaaaaay too much time on his hands)  What I have gotten from the local dealers is you have to buy a tank, or tour-pak or fender etc if damaged. The MoCo never made any of the tape stripe to sell for replacement purposes. Has anyone found a graphics shop that can copy it.

Please PM me if you have any info. Buddy of mine with a 100th Anniversary Black and Silver UC needs to repaint a couple things and is screwed by the MoCo on this.

Thanks

I had checked around for a buddy with no luck other than new parts. You always have the alternative of repair yours (or another) and painting up to the tape, then clearing over the whole thing. Others have the same issue with other factory decals, where you are SOL on obtaining those by the each.

Big B,

If the damage does not extend to the actual stripe, a good painter can mask off the stripe, repaint the part, blend the break lines, then apply the clear over the whole shebang.

Spider,
The 03 Ford F-150 H-D trucks had the anniversary stripe too, I don't know if it was the same width or not but it would be worth a shot checking with Ford.
