TTS and Windows 8
« on: November 04, 2012, 06:14:34 PM »

Is the TTS software compatible with Windows 8? I'm a Mac guy and can't find a copy of Windows 7 any where locally, seems they've all been pulled to promote Windows 8 sales. thanks, Murph

Not sure if Windows 8 will work, but just google purchase windows 7 and you will get many hits. It's still very available and many purchases are downloadable.

Is it the physical disc that you want???  You could download the software and have the disc shipped..and probably cheaper online than at a local store...but whatever makes you happy :)

Go to a mom and pop computer repair shop, they'll probably have it.

I can get it some how some way, just wanted to know if the TTS software works with Windows 8. If I have to spend the money I might as well get the newest stuff. Murph

We have not been testing on Window 8. The development side of Window 8 has seen many changes along the way so we have been waiting for a release to start back at it again. Testing to early and you get to do it over and over again, so we wait until a release is made and hope we only have to do it one time.

Loaded and installed fine for me.  I am a Mac guy as well and ended up buying a cheap laptop to run the program.  No issues.

Windows 8 BLOWS! Users are abandoning it in droves. It's the worst disaster in Microsoft history... even worse than Vista. Market penetration is nearly NIL. Scuttlebutt is that it could cost Ballmer his job.

Win 8 with the Metro interface may be the latest... but it sure ain't the greatest... Win 7 is. Do yourself a favor and find a copy of Win 7 and love it. It's stable, performs well, and runs very efficiently. Trust me on this... I'm a geek!

P.S... Did I mention that Windows 8 BLOWS? It really does... Avoid it at all costs!

Guess I'm lucky, 3 laptops with Vista (home premium), and never had any trouble...

I have W8 on my one net book.  I'm pretty sure I have TTS loaded on it and have flashed my hd04 bike with it.  I will check in the morning and let you know.

Windows 8 service pack 1 is supposed to bring back the start button and fix some of the stupidity that Win 8 introduced.......we'll see........kind of like waiting for the Harley that runs right straight from the factory :huepfenlol2:

We just bought a new all in one for the office with Windows 8.
Too many compatability issues to mention. Going to erase 8 and re load it to windows 7.
