Geez, Don...that's a bit of a tough one. How concerned is she about quality of images? If only going to post to Facebook, that's one thing, but you can do that with a smartphone with something over 5MP. A real camera...that's a different ballpark...IMO.
Not that concerned about superb image quality. I'm not sure why she's wanting to do it with something other than her iPhone either. But she's decided she does. She's got a Nikon DSLR and a few lenses I set her up with two or three years ago. Always shoots in automatic.... But she uses it.
My guess is she's wanting to approximate what is in her mind a "good picture" and be able to shoot video without having to switch anything. The Facebook thing is her big deal though.
I found a Nikon that was based on the Android operating system. WiFi enabled and downloaded apps. It could go directly to Facebook or most anythign else with an app available. But it used an older Android OS that I'm not a fan of. So even though the camera is relatively new the software turned me off.
Then found a Samsung model with a similar skill set. But it's a bit complicated for her regular use. So still looking. Hopefully someone else will know of something. I'm too many beers in to the evening to do competent research.
