I ran through two sets of the Michelin's on my SEEG, Shrader.  Better ride and stickier in the corners than the OEM Dunlops, for sure.  Seemed to wear pretty good, too.  I prefer them over the Dunlops, but never tried any of the other brands the rest of the guys are mentioning.

Were they the relatively new Commander II or the older version Commanders?

Hey guys thanks for the replies so far.

So looks like the consensus is metzlers are OK, Avon's good but wear fast and e3's are great. Also Harry has worn out a bunch of tires and has Hubbard envy and Spider is either suffering from D402 denial, or been in the huckleberry juice again. :zwtf: :zwtf: :drink:

What about Michelin commander II's

Regards
Shrader

Shrader, looks like some E3's are in your future please let us know how they work out, that is if you plan on riding them instead of 3 more years of collecting dust up there in the secret outpost.

That's pretty funny Hubbard envy, I ain't the one who has only seen his tailights /cough   Don't worry I wont tell him that is because you let him win.     :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:
Although I do miss his banter, excuses and rantings :)

Stop already with the complicated questions. :nervous: :nixweiss: :huepfenlol2:  I put the first set on in 2007 and the second set in 2010.  No idea if they were I's or II's.  Better get the E3's! LOL

If it was in 07 and 10 they were commanders. I guess I should have asked what year.....Thanks

Is that good, or bad?  I thought those tires performed right nice.  Are the II's better or worse? :nixweiss:

Jury is still out on the dust deal, but I bet there ain't none on my boat.

I miss ol hub too. You know this could be the end of an era or something, like the Mayan Calender deal, or even BC and AD. Who knows in the future 2012 may become known as as year 1 AH, After Hubbard. LMAO

PS I meant to tell you earlier that I have terrible cell service at home so if you try to call I probably won't know it until tomorrow when I get out of the holler here.

Kindest Regards

Now that is a real complicated question. I don't know. I guess Michelin thinks the newer ones are better or they wouldn't have redesigned them. Hate to think some engineer wasted his time to create an inferior product but you can never be sure can you. Just look at some of the things HD has done......

He is in deep depression over the coal business, or rather the lack of it, and his thrashing the last time he was down south, not necessarily in that order. :2vrolijk_21:

Latest update

Last weekend I rode several hundred miles. On Saturday Otis and I took I77 up to Beckley. In usual HBRR style I don't think we ever had em under 80, including a couple runs pegged at 120. Those of you that have ridden around here know that 77 has some pretty good curves in it. In all of these the old gal was steady as a rock regardless of speed. This was somewhat unexpected given the fact that the front tire is cupped and the rear tire is worn as well. Needless to say I am happy with the monotubes. I rode about 120 or so on Sunday. This time I decided to run a lot of two lane twisty roads, some of which could definitely use resurfacing. I selected the particular route because I had ridden it this past summer before the addition of the montubes, but after the shocks. WOW what a difference. I found myself riding the curves much faster than before. The ol gal is fun to ride again, so much so that I am parking the boat again this weekend.

It looks like I will be adding e3 tires before spring. Has anyone put a wider e3 on the back of a seeg, or should I stay with the 140?
