here is what I got from PEZ today:
Michael
I am away, and cannot access all the sites I normally check. I believe a
customer has innocently posted something and it has been taken WAY out of
context.
A VERY small percentage of people have had an issue--and unlike most vendors
have shared it freely so people know it is our intention to have the best
products possible. I know it is not their fault, but I believe the issue arises
from playing the speakers way too loud for a long time. In the testing I did on
the current product, I felt the speakers would play so loud for soooo long, it
would cause discomfort to the listener and cause them to turn it down. When I
say the product is upgraded, it is to try to eliminate this 2%, which as you
know is a small amount.
In NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM do I believe we are selling product I know to be
defective. I would put all my stock in the landfill before I damaged the
companies reputation.
Your speakers left as promised. I would strongly suggest you run those, as I do
not believe you will have an issue. I do have a few pairs Im airing over for
guys who have had an issue, to give them as a replacement. The mod is so small
it isnt funny---all it is is a little more solder at a potentially weak spot in
the inerts of the speaker. For those who "need" to have them that loud, these
upgrades should do the trick, as we played them into full distortion for 8
hours with no failure---thats 6 speakers for 8 hours with no failure.
Ultimately we will do what you want. If I thought there was an issue, I would
stop taking orders all together--If you would like to comment, please email me

I have been away as my mother passed away last Thursday, so I have been dealing
with family in Western Canada. Maybe I could bother you to let the guys on
FLHRSEI know this, and that I will be back Monday. As a young company and a
straight shooter--we will always do the right thing!
Cheers----Hope to hear from you soon
