SERT V477
« on: November 26, 2012, 11:47:48 AM »

Hey all,

New member here.  Introduced myself in the new members area but I need some assistance.  My 2003 FXSTDSE came with the race tuner and the software.  My problem is that I found the shop that did the dyno work on the bike.  They were kind enough to give me a copy of the tuning file.  Unfortunately the file won't open on my v453 of SERT.  I have spent hours searching the web to no avail.  Apparently you cannot buy the v477 software from Harley anymore.  Anyone have an idea on where I can pick up this version?

Thanks,
Sam

If you have a place I can upload the software to, I will be happy to give you a copy of it.

First, I would like to say thanks to Harry for helping me out.  It's very much appreciated.

So I assumed that having a newer version of the SERT software would fix my problem, however it didn't.  When I try to open the tuning file, I get this error message:

Error occurred during date inflation: -9

An error occurred while loading the Tuning Mode file.  The file may be incorrect for this application or damaged.

I can't seem to find any information on this error.  Does anyone know what needs to be done here?

I would go back to the place you got the file and retry to copy it to a usb stick again.   Might just be they pulled out a stick to quickly and corrupted the file before it was finished writing.

Another idea would be to contact Steve Cole at Mastertune.net    He also frequents this site.    While he is the owner of TTS he was also the person who wrote the SERT for Harley up to 2007-2008.   He would be the guy to go to if the file itself isnt corrupt.

Sam,

I opened the file up with no issues, except i saved it to my hard drive without any of the comma's in the file name.

You may want to try that first and let us know how you make out.

Yep, that was the problem.  I removed the commas in my file here and it opened without issues.  To my knowledge, there is only one other instance where the inflation error occured on the net.  Hopefully anyone else having the same problem can find this and take care of their problem.

Thanks a bunch Harry.  Next time your around this way, let's go ride.  :)

Sam,

Incase you didnt know already.

TTS has an upgrade available to you.   You can send your SERT Dongle and 100.00 to TTS and they will upgrade you to the latest TTS Software and Dongle.

I did find this, but I'm not sure what the benefits of upgrading it are.

More tuneability in the new software, Harley didnt let Steve do all he wanted in the early versions so now we see more and more functionality being opened up.

He does not have O2 sensors so cannot run VTune sessions which to me is the biggest thing about the upgrade.

Vtune is off the table unless he upgraded the ECM, but suffice to say there is more there if wanted / needed especially for a tuner.   Ability to adjust speedo if needed for a wheel change for example.   Also getting tougher to find the 4.77 code a lot of guys have lost it when they upgraded their computers and as he found its not exactly readily available.   Where is TTS can be downloaded from the Web.  just saying is all.

Most dealerships have the old disc's laying all over the place. Just got to ask if you can down load it in your lap top. Most will.   axil
