Options for highway pegs for short people on FLHXSE3
« on: November 27, 2012, 05:17:37 PM »

Hi guys. With these lowers I am having a hard time finding a viable solution for highway pegs. On my old FLHX I simply moved the passenger pegs to the lower crash bar with the 360 degree swivel mounts. I positioned them right above the floorboards and slighty out so I could move my feet forward and out. Heels on floorboards and toes on highway pegs and I loved that setup. With these lowers I can't see that as an option. Curious to see pics or suggestions from other short CVO members!

I have the HD long angled on my SG.  They work very well.  They give me the option of putting my heel on the running board and toe's on the peg's or putting my whole foot on the peg's to stretch out.

Are those 360 degree adjustable where the peg mounts to the arm? Also, what did you replace your passenger pegs with? One more thing, do you have floorboard extensions? Thanks

Yes, that is the correct parts number Jswerve.  #50829-07A. 5" Long angled.  And yes, the attachment to the bars is 360 degree swivel.  They will work perfect for you!  I am 5' 6" and I have no trouble reaching them because I have the HD Reach Seat.  The pegs I used came from the passenger pegs.  I replaced the passenger pegs with part #50211-04. They look fine cause they are always folded up, so all you see is the chrome back.

Hope this helps you!  Don't ever hesitate to ask me any questions!  I can always help you spend your money!

Putting the floorboards on the back will work perfect, cause then you can move those pegs to your highway bars.   :P

Yep, These CVO's grow on you!  :P.   I hope you and your wife love your new scooter as much as I love mine!  I'm getting ready to take mine to the shop so they can put on my Christmas  :santa2: goodies.  I'm putting in a reverse since I have trouble pushing it backwards with my "bum" leg.  Putting on the Truck-Lite LED headlight and running lamps.  Also switching out my clutch spring to make pulling in the clutch lever easier.  Adding the Kuryakyn engine lights and the spoilers on the saddle bags with the LED's.  I will post pictures when I get it back from the shop.   ::)

x2. I like the way they work out and look also.  Have several positions can put my feet and I'm 5'10(still short to a lot of people) :)

OK, I give up.  Looks like HD has sold another set of #50829-07A. 5" Long angled and another set of pegs.  You didn't get any kick-back from the MoCo on any of this did ya Judy?.... ;D  The pictures you posted shore make 'em hard to resist.  As I am also 5'6", these will work just fine for me....I guess I know what my Christmas  :santa2: goodies will look like this year.... :2vrolijk_21:

By the way as the three folks discussing the tour pack on Jswerve's Ruby are on this post (Judy, Jswerve and myself) I thought I would update.  Got an out-the-door price on a color matched King to go with the Ruby that is set up as it would be on an CVO Ultra (without the speakers, however) at $2,380.  Not bad but still quite a bit for a painted plastic box... ::)  Sure you don't want to sell yours Jswerve?  Judy and I could go in and have joint custody.... ;D :D ;D

LOLOLOL it came on my bike but I know damn well I PAID a price in the final exchange of moneys! I absolutely love having it available. We went for a little cold ride the other day to a funeral and it was nice to throw it on and put all our leathers and such in it. We are looking for to doing some really long trips with it this coming riding season!

Howard, I read your post and I'm still laughing.  :D.  I wish the MOCO would give me a kickback cause I've sold a boat load of those long angled pegs for them.  ;).  You will like them..., they are AWESOME  :2vrolijk_21:  Now, we gotta work a little harder at getting that TP from Jswever, cause I am willing to share ownership with you, you get it from Dec to March and I get it April to Nov.   :P  :zroflmao: :zroflmao: :zroflmao: :zroflmao: :lolk:  That is a great price you were quoted for the TP.  I was at the stealer's the other day and the parts guy told me that they will only make them for our CVO with the two color's  like our scooter for 2 or 3 years and after that we will have to go with the solid Ruby Red.   :'(.  I'm probably gonna pull the trigger this coming spring.  My reverse is my priority, so that gets put on first.   ::)

If you consider yourself short legged you need those Long Angles mounts.
Like you, I already had the 360 degree mounts before I had Lowers and they will work for me with a 32" inseam.
But the Long Angled would probably be better.
The 360 degree  won't wrap around the fairing like the Long Angled do.
