yet another ipod problem/question
« on: December 03, 2012, 09:10:09 AM »

My 13 King has the new sound system with the 8   G iPod.  Question is I cant seem to get the right switch controls to work to skip songs.  If I press the button music stops. However  pushing up/down   does nothing.  Should I have the ability to skip songs...?

Why, why why didn't the MoCo spend a bit more and put an audio display option on tank/speedo readout/handlebars.  It would have been so much easier to operate.

The up and down switch (right handlebar) will change the song(s).

Yep, that's what I thought. I tried the iPod that came with the bike and another one I've had for a few years.  Neither of them are able to be controlled via the right switch.  I'm assuming it's a wiring error possibly in the switch assy on the bar itself...  Guess I'll have to bring it in.

Thanks!

Any resolution on your problem I have the same thing on a 13 RK not able to change songs. Anyone got this fixed from the MOCO or just another thing you put up with not working.

I added Harley's iPod interface to the '09 SERG, seems to work all the time.

Still haven't gotten around to bringing the RK in for service,, figured I wait for the 1K service and have them check this while it's in.

I am curious though...  Does anyone have or know where to find a HD IPOD Operators Manual for the IPOD as it relates to the one installed...?

Thanks folks.

When I installed the ipod upgrade kit in my 10SESG it came with a book, my 11SESG that came with it factory installed did not have a book. Regardless, it is difficult to navigate through however if you are in a playlist you can navigate up and down through the songs with the right switch. Sometimes there is a delay and you have to wait a few seconds. I too have at times had to unplug the ipod itself and plug it back in. My latest problem was my front amp went out which is a documented problem along with the fairing speakers, all covered under warranty.
