Finned Headbolt Bridge
« on: December 12, 2012, 07:16:55 PM »

Just wondering if anyone had this on their scoot and if so any pics?  Part number I am looking at is HD 43859-00.  Was wondering if there were/are any related heat issues with it?  Thanks.

They look and work great.  Should actually aid cooling with the additional cooling fins on the bridges.

Main thing is to get the holdown bolts tight to the cylinder head bolt(s) and then the bridge holdown bolts tight to the holdown.

If they come loose, you will think you have an upper valve train related rattle and it is just the loose bridges  making the noise.

There is one negative to having these, and that is corrosion on the bolts that these mount to. I love the look but when I took them off my 03 was surprised at the corrosion that had formed underneath. Stopped using them after that.  It won't matter if you never take them off....

Put them on all my bikes but are hard to damn near impossible to remove and reinstall due to the bolt treads locking up. No worrys of them coming loose.

In other words, it would sound normal on a 110... :D ;D

seems to me that the instructions said to NOt put them on bikes equipped with lowers. I have a set I've not yet installed...I'll have a look to be sure.

When did they start making them in granite color. :nixweiss:  I knew they had them in black and aluminum.  But didn't get any because they didn't have granite yet.
