Looks like a great idea for metro areas or campus environments. We see a few Segways around the Stanford campus, but I'd say this is actually an improvement over the Segway design.  I could see this taking off on large college campuses and cities.

Exactly what I was thinking, along with the clean air and low cost, Go GREEN!

Then of coarse break out the RED BIKE for the real ride!    :2vrolijk_21:   8)

I'll ride just about anything once. Owning one is another story.

I'm with Mark.  Still have some scrubbed elbow meat from a ride on a powered unicyle many years ago.  That thing didn't have any inertia dampening or gyro type help.  This little beast I might not even fall over with.  But what the hell, can't fall any farther than the ground.

Got any pics of that? I think a pedal powered unicycle would be hard enough to ride .... always wanted to try one, still haven't. I could always wheelie a 10 sp. for blocks but I don't know if my balance is good enough for a one wheeler, let alone one with a motor. That one in the vid does seem to be dummy-proof.

Geez I wish.  I'm sure they'd have been hilarous.  That was years ago though.  Had to be in my early 20s and probably not enough beers in to dull the landing but too many in to care.  What I remember most was the zig and the swerve and wobble that seemed to go on forever; right until the street came suddenly rushing up at me.  I'm sure it was a conspiracy between gravity and Budweiser that did me in.  Couldn't have been my unicycling skills...  ::)
