CVO 110" need help on upgrades

I have an 08 FXDSE2 and I really love the bike except for the 110" engine.  While I think the 110" stock motor is quite good for that, a stock motor, I'm struggling to figure out what to do next.  I've thought long and hard about turbos, blowers and the 120R.  However, to put 8K into a 120R and still not have a rock solid bottom end concerns me and I'll feel like I haven't made up much ground.  

Here's my dilemma, my budget isn't rally permitting me to do it right. I have 8k to spend  but it doesn't seem there's much I can do with that. I know you can't really add displacement because of the cases and I don't have the dough to do the engine correctly and add a blower or turbo. Maybe I could do that in stages?

I look a bike with gobs of off idle torque that will pull real hard. While I drive reasonably fast that's not the issue the bike will get there, but I really want neck snapping stop-light to stop-light torque.

I know you gotta pay to play with HDs but this CVO motor is killing me. I'd hate to sell the bike because I really like it.

dosnt have to be expensive,headwork (around 500.00)set compression higher & S&S .585 cams(around 275.00,but theres lots of choices here,but we`ve found the .585`s to work pretty good on them without getting crazy)easy 115+/120+.we`ve gone 120hp+ many times too but that starts getting alittle pricier

Headwork, cams, a t/body and a good pipe.

Can displacement be increased at all?  Are you suggesting a larger TB like one from HPI?

$8K buys a ton of engine building. Selling your 110 gives U another $3k. Build the 110 right, perhaps have the crank welded while doing a rebuild. Someone else can tell U if the spigot needs to be bored if U want to go bigger as well, 113", or 117". Like Scott said, build it and let it feed on others!!!!

With a 4 1/8" cylinder kit, and case boring, etc,.....................................117".
With an S&S 4 5/8" crank, and 4 1/8" cylinder kit, case boring etc,............124".
Yes, an HPI unit would be a good choice, and now S&S does offer a 66mm "Throttle Hog".
We've had the opportunity to use those on a couple 120's at this point.

Just quoted a 124"er this morning, (engine out of the chassis) using the clients cases/Timken/66 mm/headwork/VPC 92T, was well under that numnber.
Peak power, and delivery, can be juggled around for the intended riding, but with a 124"er, and the .640 cam, along with cylinder head modifications/optimising compression, 66mm TH, 140's........

   With a Granit 110, who's 4 1/8" cylinder kit do you use to keep the granit color?

Last one we just built, (with a Pro-Charger on it) we sent the cylinders to www.sumax.com, and the client also wanted Diamond Heads to cut the fin edges as well.
I believe that S&S offers the granite color now. :)

The 4.060 HD cylinders will go 4.125 but will need powder coat. Rev Performance offers Granite. S&S will also powder coat Granite. Daytec the frame guys in California are good at HD motor powder coating too at reasonable prices.

I contacted S&S a couple weeks ago to inquire about there 4.125 cylinder and having them in Granite color and this was the reply I got back.....


Sid,

I spoke with the head of our powder coating division and he has confirmed that we do not have anything to match the SE granite.  I will bring this up in our weekly meeting on Wednesday, but unfortunately for now, I cannot meet your needs.  Sorry.
