Awesome Rubber
« on: January 10, 2013, 07:25:52 PM »

I just wanted to throw it out there that I put the Michelin Commander II on my Fatbob last fall, and they are amazing. If you are in the market for new rubber, after about 2000 miles, I cant say that I have ever been more impressed with a tire.

I put almost 4000 miles on mine in two months. Both rear and front tires look great! No apreacable wear.
The work great on both wet/dry roads, Smoky Mountains roads too! Love the tires no issues and I will get great mileage from them.

I read all the hype about them lasting longer also.
So I put them on this past tire change.

Just a little history on me and tires.
I am very hard on tires, many on this site go 14,000 miles or more on there rear tire, I generally get 6,000 out of mine, no matter the brand.
So I go through 3 rear tires a summer roughly.
I would assume this is because I am heavy rider (AKA FAT) and ride pretty aggressive. :P

With that said, I like the tire, but it lasted no longer than the other brands we have all tried.
Along with my weekend riding, I use my bike to commute to work every day, about 120 miles in all weather.

I will say this, in my opinion it is the best wet road tire I have ever run, and for that reason I will continue to use them.
The bike just hugged the road no matter how much water was on it, It never felt like it wanted to loose grip.
And we all know how good of a feeling that is in a downpour.

Just my 2cents on this tire.

Just put a set of Michelin Commander II's on my 2007 SE Ultra. Took the bike out for a 120 mile ride Sunday. They are the smoothest and best handling tire I have Installed. I rode Through groved and rough pavement without issue. The bike did not wiggle in the groves. I am 100% satisfied, would highly recommend. Harley should install these tires new.

I have a friend that probably rides 12,000 miles a year two up that swears by them!
