Helicopter crash central London
« on: January 16, 2013, 09:59:04 AM »

" Wow" A chopper went down in London this morning during rush hr. It crashed when it hit a tower crane.
This is a route I take two or three times a week. My van went in the repair shop so I was kept local with a temp. van. Thats not to say I would have been there at the time of the crash, "BUT" I could have if the van had not been in the shop. WOW again!!!

                      Take a look

How the heck did the pilot NOT see that huge building/crane?  Pete, thank the Lord you had van trouble.  I'm sure the crane operator is saying his prayers of thanks for being late, too.  Wow indeed.

There was a lot of fog this morning Howard. You see helicopters flying the Theams river all the time it's a route for them I would think the pilot was a littel off course in the fog and he just didn't see the boom. That building with the tower crane is right on the bank of the river. just up the road is a DHL depot, BMW, Bentley and Royal Mail sites I attend regularly on brake downs. these sites are on Nine Elms road were the crane is and helicopter crashed.
The crane operator was late for work held up in traffic from doping his kids of at school. there was a brake in the traffic do to a red light just at the time of the helicopter hitting the ground.

I think the good Lord had a busy morning watching over a number of people.

You know, being that it was in London it should have come to me it may be fog related....duh.  Just saw the report on foxnews.com and shore enough, fog.

Just glad you and the crane operator are OK, Pete.

Unfortunate for the crew and person killed on the ground; but that could have been far worse than it was.  Timing is everything, eh?

So sorry anyone lost their lives this day.  RIP.

Prayers here, too.

In addition, please pray for the Greer family.  I'm attaching a link to this story.  Went to High School with the wife that was killed (and she was best friends with my first wife and in our wedding).  Daughter is devastated to have lost her mother and dad in custody.  Knew Terry well in past years and just can't get over this happening to that family.  This happened last Thursday.
