A surprise delivery today.  Couple days quicker than expected.  After travels that took them from south Texas to Joplin, MO to Oriskany, NY to Henderson, NV to Elkridge, MD to Joplin, MO back to Henderson, NV and now finally back to Joplin, MO here is what the heads were supposed to look like to begin with.  This is much nicer than a flat field of red power coat that could do nothing more than blob in and bumpily fill all the area filled by the alpha-numeric characters.

Yes it does.  And thanks everyone.  I'm pleased with the appearance of the end product too.  Honestly not sure when time will allow getting it all put on.  But it will be sooner rather than later.  I've likely got to be gone for a few days starting the 15th and likely won't get it done before that trip if it happens.  But I'd like to  :'( .

One last comment on Diamond Heads, how good the heads (and all of the diamond cutting) looks and not getting the alpha-numerics cut when they had them the first time.  Especially given the two obvious facts of 1) how good the end product looks when it's done and 2) the level of OCD that is driving anyone who is doing all that to begin with; you got to wonder something.  You've got to wonder why in the world cutting that isn't just part of the default job.  Especially if it's only a $20 price difference.

They're going to have a lot more people upset over feeling like they "missed something" and are then left with a big color filled field blobbed with powder coat then they ever would have folks concerned over spending 20 bucks more (on top of $250 for heads to begin with).  Beautiful work.  Weird business practice.  Said without a bit of rancor, it's a practice/decision on their part I really just don't understand.

Last thing (at least for now) on the heads.  Have gotten a couple of PMs asking for before and after pics to illustrate what Zippers is doing to rework these heads.  Right now can't show a side by side of the combustion chambers of course as the originals aren't off the bike yet.  I can hold the OE valves up against the newly worked heads though for that comparison.  Tore the heads apart before they ever left here so I think the original used valves are still laying around someplace.  Will try to find them tomorrow and hold them up against one of the heads.
