Just renewed all my tags today. Florida has no personal property tax, just the registration renewal rates and it is usually based on weight and number of axles. Some counties are a few dollars more or less but very close. you can renew for one or two years, the below are for one year.

Dave and Ultrarider...Thanks SO much for the inside information!  I have camped, backpacked, and fly fished in that area since I was a wee lad, and love it.  No prettier mountains anywhere, and I've seen a few.  If I had my "druthers", I'd live somewhere towards the Cosby area from Gatlinburg.  Maryville appealed to me because it looks like it's "big enough", has a decent Hospital (and Knoxville is near), and the homes looked affordable.

I don't need a big assed house.  1500-2000 sq. ft. would do me fine.  A log home would be great, but I'm not all that picky, other than relatively low maintenance.  But, it would need to have either a basement, or at least a 3 car Garage for all my chit that I can't part with at this time.  And I'd like a little privacy...just enough where my neighbors can't hear what I say when I'm sittin' outside talking to myself and having a brew.   

But the tax situation sounds kind of like Alabama. High sales tax, but our property taxes may be a bit lower.

If it's going to happen at all, it will be a year or two.  Housing market where we live now is depressed and undervalued, so it makes it hard to walk away from invested money.  It all washes out, one way or the other.

Illinois is only $39 a year for motorcycles, $46 if you have a personalized plate

Tags in Louisiana are $12.00 for 4 years.  Personalized tags are $25.00 per year extra.

It varies from state to state.  Here Washington state I paid about $160 for my 2013 CVO RGC license tabs.  $100 of that was for regional transit tax so it's deductable off federal income tax.

But, as my buddy says; if you can't afford the upkeep on it, you shouldn't own it...

$0.69/day here in California for my 09 SERG.  Cheaper than Starbucks.  Sounds so much better than $252 (which includes $38 for vanity plate).

Lic Fee: $42.48
Road Fee: $16.00
Bridge Fee: $ 13.00

Grand Total: $617.48

The numbers on the registration do not even add up right.

Road fee...Bridge fee?  Guess they haven't thought about charging for a Daytime Use and/or Nightime Use Fee!

Pennsylvania is $18 a yr. no matter what kind of bike. Cars $36. Vanity tags $20 one-time fee.  Everyone of my vehicles has a vanity tag.

Oklahoma here, $ 97.50 for tag. Not bad if you say it real fast. Got it out today & rode for a while to charge battery. Worth every PENNEY. Was kinda cold but sure enjoyed it.
